About Us
Our story
The Mum Heart Conference in Australia was born out of a desire to encourage mums in their journey as a mother and as a teacher of their children.
These conferences began in 2012 when Barbara Somervaille and a wonderful team of women from Queensland’s Darling Downs organised the Sunshine Coast Mum Heart Conference. The following year a group of NSW mums took on the challenge to host a conference in Newcastle, NSW. Since then we have been alternating the conference organisation between these two teams headed up by Barb Somervaille from the Darling Downs in Queensland and Michelle Morrow from Hunter Region. In 2017 Belinda Letchford and team ran a conference in Mandurah, Western Australia.
We hope one day to see a Mum Heart conference in each state of Australia.

What we do
Many of our sessions apply to all mothers, but our conference messages specifically minister to mothers committed to the unique journey of home educating.
You are not alone!
It is very special to walk into a beautiful room full of more than 100 ladies who are also choosing to homeschool.
We soak up the fellowship, brainstorm new ideas, meet new friends, receive fresh inspiration and practical tips to put into practice. It is also an opportunity to rest and relax in a beautiful setting.
Our Gallery
Ladies have travelled from all corners of Australia to join us each time and it is wonderful to see the blessing it is for those more isolated to meet others sharing the homeschooling journey.
The format and content of these conferences was inspired by Sally Clarkson’s Mom Heart Conferences in America and is not for profit.
